Description Inspired by the House and its rich history, the work of our inaugural writers in residency project has culminated in this new book, I’ve Never Read Elizabeth Gaskell. Three writers from The Writing Squad – Georgia Affonso, Princess Arinola Adegbite, and Guruleen Kahlo – have produced poetry, short stories and a play, inspired by the House itself and Elizabeth’s life. All proceeds from the purchase of I’ve Never Read Elizabeth Gaskell support Elizabeth Gaskell’s House, an independent museum and registered charity which celebrates the life and literature of Elizabeth Gaskell. This book was made possible thanks to the support of The National Lottery Heritage Fund and has been produced in partnership with The Writing Squad and Manchester City of Literature.
