Description Bombweed a paperback adapted from an 1947 unpublished novel. Rosebay willowherb also known as Bombweed or Fireweed, often grew on bombsites during world war II. This story follows a teenager growing up in this Naval city during the blitz. Drawn from experiences as a mother and a wife of an RAF service man during World war II. The original typescript by Margaret Smith was inherited by her daughters, Gillian Fernandez Morton and Maureen Armstrong. Four years were spent editing and getting their Mothers story ready for publication.
