The GP Tek rear wheel weighs only 1.7 kg and the rear wheel is 2.4 kg (depending on fitment), with specialised carbon fibre used to tailor the cornering stiffness. The hubs are made using 6000-grade aircraft aluminium; the fasteners are grade 5 titanium. RFID tag traceability throughout its lifespan. Serviceable coating between the tyre and rim that protects the wheel from damage during tyre changing. Design Using high-tech processes pioneered in the aerospace industry, BST wheels are manufactured in a single molding operation. This technique produces a wheel that is far superior in strength and much lighter than any aluminum or magnesium wheel, and one that is light and strong enough for racing and street use.
